A Typical Minibus Rental
A university drama society in Leeds needed a 12-seater minibus for a long weekend — picking up props and costumes from a storage unit in Sheffield on the Friday, driving to a theatre festival in Edinburgh for two days of performances, and returning to Leeds on Monday. Nine cast members, a director, and a technical assistant, plus three large prop crates.
The society's admin officer held a D1 licence (acquired through their university's minibus training scheme) and rented a 12-seater minibus from Friday morning to Monday evening — four days of rental. The prop crates fitted in the rear luggage section and on the middle-row fold-down area with the seats removed for the outbound leg.
Total rental cost including insurance and an Excess Reduction package: £390 for four days. Divided between 11 members, that was under £36 each — significantly less than train travel and entirely their own schedule. The festival organiser called it "the most logistics-together student production" they'd seen at the event.

What's the difference between minibus rental and minibus hire?
In practical terms, nothing — "rental" and "hire" are used interchangeably in the UK for short-term vehicle use. Some people say rental when they mean self-drive, and hire when they expect a driver — but we offer both models under both terms. What matters is whether you want to drive it yourself or have a professional driver.
Can I rent a minibus for just one day?
Yes — single-day rentals are available for self-drive and chauffeured options. For self-drive, a day hire is typically 24 hours from collection time. For chauffeured, a day hire covers up to 10 hours of use. Weekend packages (Friday to Monday) offer better value if you need the vehicle across a full weekend.
Is there a mileage limit on rentals?
No mileage cap on standard self-drive daily and weekend rentals — you can drive as far as you need within the UK mainland. For very long-distance hires (Scotland to Cornwall, for example), please let us know so we can advise on fuel costs. Weekly hires may have a fair-use mileage policy — confirm when booking.
Can I rent a minibus for a week?
Yes — weekly rentals (5–7 days) are available and attract a significant discount versus the daily rate. Weekly rental is popular for holiday trips, summer sports tours, and extended residentials. Contact us for a weekly rate quotation — we don't publish fixed weekly pricing because availability and season affect the rate.
Can the minibus be delivered to my address?
Vehicle delivery to a specified address is available within a 30-mile radius of our depots for an additional delivery charge, typically £40–£60 depending on distance. Delivery is subject to availability and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Collection from our depot is always available during normal operating hours (7am–7pm).
